Collapse ▲We recently invited volunteers and Extension professionals across North Carolina to help guide the future direction of the NC State Extension Master Gardener℠ (EMG) program by voicing their feedback in a funding priorities survey. Their insights will shape state-level priorities and help us maximize the impact of NC EMG Endowment and Day of Giving contributions moving forward.
The survey findings highlight a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability and public education, identifying top community needs such as pollinator health, biodiversity conservation and climate-resilient gardening. They also revealed a preference for hands-on, in-person learning methods like workshops and classes, and a need for customizable gardening presentations to support volunteers’ outreach efforts.
