This Earth Day, we're celebrating the power of our volunteers to transform environmental stewardship into local action!

The NC State Extension Master Gardener℠ program is a statewide network of trained volunteers who turn university research into local solutions. Working side-by-side with Extension educators across North Carolina, our volunteers grow healthier, more sustainable landscapes and communities year-round.

Read Growing Impact Across North Carolina in our online 2025 Annual Report to learn how our 4,000+ Extension Master Gardener volunteers connected with more than 335,000 North Carolinians in 2025 by delivering reliable, research-based gardening information. From cultivating demonstration and community gardens as learning spaces to leading plant clinics, infolines, and outreach booths, our volunteers are making a remarkable impact on the health of our state's environment.
