The STEM Garden, an Extension Master Gardener volunteer project in Wilson County, was one of two projects recognized in the demonstration garden category.

Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers from across North Carolina were honored yesterday for their efforts to address local issues through horticultural education, find solutions for gardening problems, and share sustainable, research-based gardening information in their communities.

The seven Master Gardener volunteer projects selected as recipients of the 2019 Search for Excellence awards were highlighted in an online celebration, during which volunteers involved in these projects shared their inspiring stories. Search for Excellence recognizes outstanding Extension Master Gardener volunteer educational, group projects that result in significant learning.

The celebration was recorded and may be viewed on YouTube.
