Do you know someone who is passionate about plants, education, and supporting volunteers? We’re looking for a part-time (20–25 hours/week) program assistant to help coordinate the NC State Extension Master Gardener℠ (EMG) program!
The program assistant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and continued success of the EMG program.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate training & events – Plan and support in-person and online continuing education opportunities for Extension professionals and Master Gardener volunteers.
- Enhance communication – Help keep our network connected through email, newsletters, social media, websites, and other platforms.
- Provide tech support & training – Assist Extension professionals and volunteers in effectively using the EMG Intranet, our volunteer management system.
- Support fund development – Help grow the NC Extension Master Gardener endowment and enhancement funds.
- Recognize volunteer contributions – Assist with statewide awards and appreciation efforts.

This part-time, temporary position offers a flexible work schedule, with the option for hybrid work. However, at least one day per week on NC State’s campus in Raleigh is required.
