Propagation for the Home Gardener
South Regional Library
Sara is a member of the Sarah P. Duke Gardens propagationteam and leads the
Master Gardener propagation team where they produce plantsfor our annual
plant sale and she teaches others about vegetativepropagation.
The prospect of turning a single branch into multiple plantshas captivated
gardeners for centuries. Unlike seeds, cuttings produce exactclones of the parent
plant and they already have a growth head start, so theymature faster.
This class will demonstrate how to set up a home cuttingssystem, how to select
plant material and the method of preparing the cuttings.
