Volunteer Power Behind the Plants

In 2024, a team of 28 Extension Master Gardener volunteers contributed more than 1,400 hours to expand and enhance the Plant Toolbox. Under the leadership of Plant Toolbox project manager Dr. Scott Zona, these volunteers:

  • Researched and entered data
  • Wrote and edited plant descriptions
  • Gathered and curated seasonal photos
  • Proofread new entries for accuracy and clarity

Their work ensures that the toolbox remains accurate, up-to-date, and user-friendly and serves as a trusted resource for gardeners, educators, landscape professionals, and Extension staff alike.

Visit the Plant Toolbox to discover new favorites and find the perfect plants for your yard.
